Question:

During Option 2 inspection, should the CB auditor find a major must on one site, can he/she move on to another site within the group but not on the orignal list decided at the beginning so long as the sample is retain as required?

Answer:

If a major must non-compliance is found on a farm it should result in an Immediate Complete Suspension of the certificate. If, however, the auditor finds this only to be an isolated issue and not the result of an ineffective QMS, the auditor can decide to issue an Immediate partial suspension - whereby that farmer must be suspended and his/her products can not be sold by the group as certified. If there is any doubt as to the effectiveness of the QMS implementation on farm, the auditor may increase the sample size to a maximim of 4 times the square root of members.
