Are the growers and/or supplier able to provide evidence of residue testing?" Is it necessary to test for every planting site? every field? and every grower when we applied the option 2 ? if yes, the costs of testing are so expensive. Could you please recommend me on how to reduce the cost of testing? Can we apply the testing result in designated group (same planting areas or same planting method/chemical applied) ?

Answer:

It is up to the grower to design a risk based testing programme. He may make use of the testing already being carried out by his buyer, It is important that all growers are within a surveillance scheme that ensures MRL compliance. The risks of non-compliance determine the extent of the residue testing. Tests must be made for each product category certified.
